    COURT CONVICTIONS

     

    ~~Adz:Left~~ BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A Dieppe Bay man was convicted at one of the Federation’s Magistrate courts for wounding his brother.

     

    Thomas Martin appeared before the District “B” Magistrate’s Court, Sandy Point on one count of wounding, allegedly committed against his brother, Dave Martin, on December 17, 2007 and one count of battery on a Police officer.

     

    He was convicted of both counts. He was fined $1 000 on the first, which is to be paid within three months or if in default he would be required to serve a three-month imprisonment. He was however convicted and cautioned on the battery charge.

     

    Having been convicted of possession of cannabis and carrying abroad an offensive weapon, Kemwell Matthew of Saddlers was fined $1 000 to be paid in four months or serve three months at Her Majesty’s Prison on the first count, but was cautioned on the second.

     

    ARRESTS

     

    Thorn Hendrickson of Green Tree Project and Syed Hassan of Frigate Bay will soon be in court to answer to the charges of wounding and driving without insurance respectively. 

     

    According to Police, Hendrickson allegedly committed the offence on June 13, 2008 but was arrested on Saturday, June 21, while Hassan was arrested on Friday, June 20, 2008, the same day he allegedly committed the offence.
