BASSETERRE, St. Kitts:  WITH just one day left before the commencement of the highly anticipated 12th Annual St. Kitts Music Festival, head of the Festival’s Traffic Committee is appealing to the public to make themselves aware of the traffic plan to avoid any inconveniences over the three day period.

Inspector Vynetta Wyatt issued the public announcement recently when she unveiled the restrictions and other traffic plans to be implemented for the three day event being held at the Warner Park Football Stadium June 26th-28th.

“We wish to inform the general public especially patrons attending the Music Festival that traffic will be restricted around the Warner Park area from 5.30 p.m. until one hour after the show ends on each of the nights. All vehicles will travel northwards along Victoria Road from the Cayon Street junction and no entry will be permitted from the Moravian Church end,” she explained.

She said no parking will be permitted along Victoria Road, East Park Range, Lozack Road and Taylors Range and vendors will only be allowed to occupy the southern side of Lozack Road between the Indian Restaurant and Temple Alley.

“With respect to parking, the Basseterre High School grounds will be the designated parking area for general admission while VIP parking will be provided at the school’s auditorium area.    ~~Adz:Right~~

“Taxis will be permitted to park on the western side of Victoria Road in the area from the Shell Gas station to Lozack Road. No parking will be permitted in Warner Park without a requisite pass; cars parked without such a pass will be towed at the owner’s expense” Wyatt informed.

The head Traffic officer made it clear that the restrictions and arrangements were in the best interest of the patrons, event organisers as well as the general public to allow for a smooth flow of traffic during the event.

“The Traffic Department wishes all a happy Music Festival and encourages you the patrons to drive carefully and don't drink and drive. Remember, the life you save might be your own.”
