ROADTOWN Tortola BVI,  April 12th, 2012  – The Immigration Department has confirmed that the three Haitian nationals, who were taken into custody for entering the Territory illegally, were repatriated to Haiti via St. Maarten yesterday morning.

The three males were discovered by members of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force in the Savannah Bay area on Virgin Gorda on Friday, April 6. The migrants were then transported to the Road Town Police Station and were detained there until being repatriated to Haiti, their country of origin.

Chief Immigration Officer Mr. Dennis Jennings told the Department of Information and Public Relations, “We are thankful to the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force for all their assistance. Their immediate action displayed the commitment we all share to protect this Territory’s borders.”
