CHARLESTOWN, Nevis - THE Old Manor Hotel in Gingerland, Nevis will be the venue for the Helping Our People Excel (HOPE) Gala on Saturday June 28, 2008.
Chairperson of the HOPE Gala Committee Karene Paul-Williams said plans are well on the way towards an exciting event.
She also spoke of the purpose behind the Gala’s initiative.
“This is where we provide hot meals at two local restaurants for two kids; one from the Charlestown Secondary School and the other from the Gingerland Secondary School. The deserving child is chosen by the Guidance Counsellor at the high school,” Williams said.
The Gala, which will be hosted in the form of a dinner and dance, will feature music by DJ Marshall from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. ~~Adz:Right~~
The members of HOPE describe themselves as a group of young Nevisians geared towards assisting the island’s youth in their chosen endeavours.
The group participates in several community-based activities in an effort “to stand up and be counted as young people who didn’t simply sit back and let things be, but young people who got up and did something about the plight of young people.”
