Ghetto Lion among three on drug possession charges

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – BRUCE ‘Ghetto Lion’ Nolan of Cunningham Street, McKnight was among three men charged last week for possession of controlled drugs and possession of control drugs with intent to supply.

     

    According to a police press release, on Thursday (Apr. 12) Nolan was found with a quantity of cannabis and was arrested and charged for possession of the controlled drug.

     

    “A search warrant was subsequently executed on his premises and a large quantity of cannabis was found on his premises. He was further charged for possession of and possession of cannabis with intent to supply to another. A sum of EC cash was seized by the police as it is suspected to be proceeds of criminal activities,” the release read.

     

    Brian Browne of Molineux was also charged for possession of controlled drugs (cannabis) and possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply.

     

    The release states that he was formally charged on Wednesday (Apr. 11).

     

    Also on Wednesday (Apr. 11), members of the Anti-Narcotics Unit under Sergeant Travis Rogers arrested and charged Livingston ‘Washing’ Henry of Phillips’ Village for possession of controlled drugs and possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply.

     

    The release added that a search warrant was executed on Henry’s premises and a quantity of cured marijuana with a street value of EC39 000 was found. Both the marijuana and Henry were taken into custody.

     

    Meanwhile, members of the Delta Squad last week conducted a series of patrols in the Parsons and Saddlers mountain areas and had located and uprooted 2 220 marijuana plants ranging from seedling to five feet in height.

     

    “Both Supervisors of the Drug Unit and Delta Squad are working in tandem to ensure that all efforts are made to effectively interdict, identify and seize all assets, contraband and persons involved in the illegal narcotic trade,” the release stated.

     

    It further stated that the Commissioner of Police is quite pleased with the support and determination of the Constables of the Royal Saint Christopher and Nevis Police Force in their quest to ensure that the streets of the Federation are returned to the good people.

     

    “Mr. C. G Walwyn however wishes to assure the general public that although much success has been gained in the past seven months, the agency will continue to strengthen our partnerships with the general public to ensure that persons who refuse to quit from gangs and other illegal activities wouldn't find comfort within our Federation anymore,” the release added.
