By: Stanford Conway, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A teenager was early this morning (Apr. 17) shot to death execution-style on Shaw Avenue in McKnight and police are seeking the public’s cooperation in bringing the perpetrators to justice.

Dead is 19-year-old Trevis Henville formerly of Caunt Street, Newtown, but who at the time of his death was said to be residing in McKnight.

On arrival at the scene, SKNVibes observed Henville’s motionless body lying on Shaw Avenue, some 50 metres from Cayon Street, with multiple gunshots to the back, chest and buttocks.

This publication learnt that the incident occurred shortly after 8:00 a.m. and from visible signs it seemed as if the victim was running in an attempt to escape the gunmen.

Some residents in the area claimed to have heard about nine shots being fired and this was confirmed from the amount of yellow plastic markers placed at various points by Crime Scene Technicians to indicate the location of spent shells, which they took into custody for forensic analysis.

Henville was pronounced dead at the scene by District Medical Officer Dr. Reginald O’Loughlin and the body was removed by undertakers from Jenkins Funeral Home under police escort.

According to Police Press and Public Relations Officer Sergeant Stephen Hector, police are seeking the public’s assistance in finding the perpetrators.

He however noted that the police have some leads and promised that progress reports would be forwarded to the media for dissemination.

Henville’s death has taken to six the number of murders committed in the twin-island Federation for the year; five on St. Kitts and one on Nevis.

The first was that of 28-year-old Desroy ‘Piggy’ James of Hermitage Extension, Lower Cayon, who was shot on the night of January 7 while walking with a friend along a track some 30 metres west of his home.

The second was that of 40-year-old Elvin Elvis Stanley of Old Road and proprietor of Elvis Love Shack Bar & Grill at the Frigate Bay Strip, who was shot on the night of January 26 while driving his vehicle along the Anchorage Road on his way home with his children’s mother and their teenage son.

The third was 29-year-old Miguel ‘Bashment’ Robinson of Lime Kiln, who died under a hail of bullets on February 18 at the Four Ways Bar while reportedly there to purchase a bottle of water.

The fourth murder victim was 22-year-old Leo Herbert, whose body was discovered on Wednesday (Feb. 22) in Bath Village in the vicinity of the historic Fort Charles area with multiple gunshot wounds, including one to his head.

And the fifth was St. Paul’s shopkeeper Wingrove Parris, who was shot multiple times to the body shortly after 11:00 p.m. on February 26 shortly after closing the doors to his establishment.
