KINGSTOWN St.Vincent,19th,  April 2012  -- Vincentians have been assured that at present there are no signs of any unusual activity at the La Soufriere Volcano, but it is continuing to be closely monitored.

The assurance came from Geologist at the Seismic Unit at UWI, St. Augustine, Dr. Richard Robertson.

He was speaking on a Radio Discussion Program on Sunday, which was held as part of activities to mark thirty-three years after the eruption of the volcano in April 1979.

Dr. Robertson also made an appeal to members of the public not to tamper with, nor remove any equipment from La Soufriere.
