BASSETERRE St. Kitts, April 20th 2012 - The St. Kitts Electricity Company (SKELEC) announed on Friday that electricity supply to the Basseterre North feeder needed to be interrupted for an emergency load fuse repair.
Chief Technical Officer John Krupski said, "Emergency crews will be repairing this load fuse to minimize interruption of supply during adverse weather conditions."
Public Relations Officer Gawain Fraites stated, "the Basseterre North feeder supplies electricity to Best Buy Supermarket, Buckley's, and the surrounding areas and the supply interruption is scheduled to take place commencing at 1:00pm for a period of two to three hours."
SKELEC apologizes for the short notice and is doing everything necessary in order to ensure swift restoration of electricity supply while maintaining high safety standards.
