Hooray for SKN Athletes performing in Martinique and Trinidad

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – AS the London 2012 Summer Olympic Games draw closer, more and more opportunities become available for athletes to hone their skills and qualify for the global competition.

     

    This past weekend three of the Federation’s athletes competed at the 32nd Meeting du Club COLONIAL in Fort de France, Martinique. They were Virgil Hodge, Allistar Clarke and Lestrod Roland.

     

    Virgil Hodge won both races in which she performed, finishing with 11.55 seconds and winning by over 6/10 ths of a second,

     

    In the 200 m, she won by over an entire second finishing with 23.87seconds.

     

    Our heartiest congratulations go to Virgil!

     

    Allistar Clarke placed 3rd in his 100m event with 10.60s behind Amaud Remy (Guadeloupe 10.42s) and Vincent Michalet (Martinique 10.48s).

     

    Lestrod Roland opened his 200m campaign with a 3rd place finish of 21.43s behind David Dorail (Martinique 21.02s) and Amaud Remy (Guadeloupe 21.22s).

     

    Over in Trinidad, competing in the 2012 Mannie Ramjohn Memorial Games in Port of Spain, was Tiandra Ponteen. She placed 3rd in the 400m behind Patricia Hall (Jamaica 51.59s) and Idara Out (Nigeria 52.38s).
