BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - TAMEKA WILLIAMS is the new 100m National Record holder in the 100m!! This was achieved at the 2012 Bobcat Classics hosted by the Texas State University, when she stopped the clock at 11.18 seconds +2.0W ahead of Tawanna Weadows 11.33 seconds!

Her performance is also an Olympic A Qualifier and she achieved the 8th fastest time in the world for 2012. The record was previously held by Virgil Hodge 11.21 seconds.

Tameka also placed 2nd in the 200m with 22.92 seconds +2.5W, behind her training partner, Patricia Hall of Jamaica 22.84 seconds. She earlier qualified for London 2012 with an A standard performance.

Tameka’s 2012 athletic campaign has been outstanding thus far! She earlier set the national record in the 60m indoor, and had since then been contending with the world’s greatest athletes, and registering world leading times in her respective events.

Also competing was ANTOINE ADAMS in the men’s 100m and 200m. He finished 2nd in his 100m heat in a time of 10.60 seconds 2.8W and 1st in the 200m 20.41 seconds 2.9W more than a half of a second ahead of his challenger.

Antoine’s 200m performance would have been an Olympic A qualifier, granted that the wind was legal. Results link http://www.adkinstrak.com/TXST122/

BRIJESH LAWRENCE won his 100m heat at Drake Relays with a windy performance of 10.83 seconds -5.0W. In the finals, he finished 5th with a time of 10.45 seconds +2.2W. The SKNAAA extends congratulations to Tameka for her continued performance at an elite level and for setting her 2nd National Record for the 2012 season. Congratulations are also in order for Antoine Adams and Brijesh Lawrence for remarkable performances this weekend.
