BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, May 1st, 2012 (CUOPM) – The St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank, which prides itself as assisting the disadvantaged in the community, has helped the St. Christopher Outreach Center.
As an integral component of its civic duty, the largest indigenous bank has made a financial contribution to the center.
The bank’s representative, Sabina Vaughan, in making the presentation of EC$31,000, on behalf of the financial institution, articulated that NATIONAL was proud to be a part of this initiative and that the decision to sponsor was made easier following a visit to the Centre by bank employees.
Observations made by the team revealed that the programme is well organized, the facilities well kept and meals well balanced. It was also noted that visitors to the Centre are treated with the utmost dignity.
In a show of goodwill, the St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank Limited partnered with the St. Christopher Outreach Centre, established in July 2010, through an initiative of the RAMS Group of Companies in collaboration with the St. Kitts Christian Council.
Meals are provided meals to the shut-ins and underprivileged, counseling to the mentally ill, shower facilities and clean clothing for the homeless.
NATIONAL’S involvement in this program would allow for meals to be served from Monday to Friday weekly.
Speaking on behalf of the Centre, Superintendent of the Wesley Methodist Churches on St. Kitts, Rev. Dr. Wycherley Gumbs expressed gratitude to the Bank for its generosity, sharing and caring as well as its commitment to community.
“The name NATIONAL has always been synonymous with excellence and generosity and the Management of this exemplary institution has every intention to maintain its leading edge in the banking sector and community outreach programmes,” the bank said in a statement.
