    Man fined EC$1 500 for drug possession
    ...says he kept marijuana as appetizer

    ~~Adz:Left~~CHARLESTOWN, Nevis - BOSTON BROWNE of Stoney Grove will have to pay an EC$1 500 fine for being in possession of controlled drugs.

     

    Browne, who pleaded guilty to the July 2, 2008 offence, told Magistrate Yasmine Clarke on Tuesday that he had kept the controlled drug to whet his appetite.

     

    In the same court, Leroy Sweeny pleaded not guilty for allegedly being found with a controlled drug. His case was adjourned to allow time for the drug to be tested.

     

    And Dennis Maynard of Bricklyn, who appeared in the same court on wounding charges, was released on EC$3 000 bail, while David grant of Beaumont was convicted and cautioned for driving without due care.
