According to a Police press release dated July 10, 2008, Dr. Jones reported that Williams’ death was due to gunshot wound to the head with haemmorhage and shock, and in Webster’s case, death was due to gunshot injuries to the chest and abdomen with haemmorhage and shock.

Reports suggest that at about 9:30 on Saturday evening, Webster was walking along Sandown Road when he was approached by an assailant who opened fire on him.

He was shot in the chest and abdomen and taken to the Joseph N. France General Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Williams’ death marked the Federation’s 13th murder for the year.  On the same night, at about 11:15, he was shot in the head while driving a motorcar across George Street, Newtown. An injured Williams was taken to the hospital where he lost the fight for his life an approximate 12 hours later.

Information emanating from the Police suggests that a number of suspects were interviewed but no arrests were made and investigations are continuing. ~~Adz:Left~~

Eleven of the 13 murders for the year have taken place on St. Kitts while the other two took place on Nevis. Both murders on Nevis and eight of the 11 on St. Kitts were gun-related.

In other news, a routine stop and search was conducted by Police on Wednesday in the Cayon area, which resulted in Ken Wilson of Phillips Village being arrested and charged with “possession of ammunition”.  Police have informed that he was searched and two 5.56 rounds of ammunition were discovered on his person.
