    TDC/Berger Paints donates to Fountain Restoration at Independence Square

    TDC officials and Heritage Society and fountain restoration representatives and workmen
    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts- TDC/BERGER PAINT on Friday widened its scope of corporate citizenship when officials from TDC handed over five gallons of paint to assist with the restoration of the fountain located in the Independence Square.

     

    Jonel Rawlins-Drew, Ag Manager TDC Client Relations & Marketing of TDC made the donation worth approximately EC $800 to David Rawlinson, the Project Coordinator of the Fountain Restoration.

     

    Rawlinson disclosed to SKNVibes.com that he approached management of TDC Home & Building Depot last week seeking a contribution in the form of paint to further the restoration project.  

    Through the assistance of Andrea Dugid, Assistant Sales Manager for Exports at Berger Paints in Barbados, the local agents for the product fulfilled the request.

     

    The type of paint donated, Berger Chlorinated Rubber Paint, dries to a rubberised enamel finish and is used to seal/cover the bottoms of swimming pools, fountains and wells, Leslie Warner Supervisor of the Paint & Oils section at TDC Home & Building Depot informed the gathering.   ~~Adz:Right~~

     

    Also present to witness the donation were Grace Challenger-Bird, Executive Director of the St. Christopher Heritage Society and Randolph Hamilton, Manager of Product Development and Cruise at the National Tourism Authority. Due to the historic significance of the project, both entities have a vested interest in the completion of the project.

     

    Hamilton told SKNVibes.com that, “This is a positive step for Tourism in St Kitts and Nevis regarding the preservation of our historical sites. Public and private sector partnerships are critical components of sustainable Tourism development and this is an excellent example of what such partnerships can achieve. This will ultimately result in the sustainable growth and development of Tourism in the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis.”
