Esroy Mills on trial for shooting with intent

By: Jenise Ferlance, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - ESROY MILLS of Upper Cayon is currently on trial for one count of shooting with intent and another for assault with intent to commit a felony.

The trial began on Monday (May 14) with the prosecution team being lead by Director of Public Prosecutions Pauline Hendrickson with John Cato as the defence counsel.

The prosecution called four witnesses to testify that on July 4, 2011, sometime after 4:30 p.m., Mills shot at Bichara Isaac while he was in the vicinity of the Cayon Primary School and that on that same day he pointed a gun at Constable Glenroy Stanley with intent to commit a felony.

Mills was the only person to testify and he did not call on any witness to give evidence on his behalf.

The case continues tomorrow (May 17) with the closing arguments of both the prosecution team and the defence.
