Two charged with Kwazi’s murder

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – TWO individuals were charged with the murder of Shamari ‘Kwazi’ Williams, the Federation’s 13th murder victim for the year.
SKNVibes received information that some time ago, two individuals were arrested and said to be assisting Police with their investigations into Williams’ death.
However, this media house has since been informed that the two individuals, Malzy ‘P’ Drew and Lester ‘8 Ball’ Tross, both of Newtown, were yesterday charged with the murder of Williams.
Sources have also informed that both men have since made an appearance before the court and were remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison.
Williams sustained injuries which later proved fatal, on the night of Saturday, July 5, 2008.

According to information released by the Police, he was driving a vehicle along George Street, Newtown and while in the vicinity of Hope Chapel, “some person(s) opened fire on the vehicle” which resulted in him being “shot on the right side of his head”. He then lost control of the vehicle and crashed into another that was stationary.
He was taken to the Joseph N. France General Hospital where he lost a 12-hour fight for his life.
Williams’ incident came sharply on the heels of the Federation’s 12th murder, which took place less than two hours before. Darnel Webster, 18, was the victim of that incident.
Investigations into both incidents are ongoing and persons with information surrounding either are asked to contact the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at 465-2241 extensions 220, 230, 236 or the crime hotline “707”. All information given will be treated with the strictest confidence.
