BVI Tourist Board to Launch Exhibitions

~~Adz:Right~~ The general public is being invited to the official launch of two exhibitions on Thursday at the Lower Estate Sugar Works. One of the exhibitions will depict David Turnbull’s Drawings of the Virgin Islands Child’s World 1838 to 1960s which provides a historic look at the toys and chores that BVI children would have experienced during the period. 

The other exhibition titled, Musical Instruments (Global) will feature a variety of instruments from throughout the ages and around the world. 

The Honourable Irene Penn O’Neal will officially open the exhibitions. 

Thursday’s ceremony begins at 4:45 p.m. at the Lower Estate Sugar Works and will include a musical presentation by Mr. Berrisford Smith and other musicians. The exhibitions will be mounted until August 31, 2008.
