CHARLESTOWN, NEVIS, (June 1st 2012) -- Bath Village resident Renee Wilkinson, on May 12 2012, made her family, friends and the entire Nevisian community proud when she graduated from the University of the Virgin Islands [UVI] with a Master of Arts Degree in Education [M.A.E.].
Wilkinson, a mother of one, relocated to St. John United States Virgin Islands [USVI] in January 2008 when she commenced Undergraduate Studies at UVI. In 2010, she, along with four other Nevisian residents graduated with Bachelor of Arts degrees.
When asked about her motivational forces, Wilkinson said, “Everything I do is done for my daughter N’kala,” adding that her decision to pursue Graduate Studies in Education was driven by a need to ensure that her seven year old daughter excels academically.
Prior to relocating to the USVI, Wilkinson worked as a Trust Manager at South Pac Trust.
While in the USVI, Wilkinson served as a member of the UVI-Student Government Association’s Queens Committee and the UVI St. Kitts-Nevis Association.
Wilkinson is a member of this year’s Culturama Ms. Culture Queen and Ms. Culture Swimwear and Mr. Kool Contests’ subcommittees.
She is the daughter of Karen and Everette Wilkinson.
