St. Kitts and Nevis says final farewell to Nevis’ First the Hon. Simeon Daniel

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts June 4th,  2012 (CUOPM) – St. Kitts and Nevis says a final goodbye to the late Dr. Simeon Daniel, Nevis’ First Premier and the First Federal Minister of Finance, following Independence.

    Deputy Prime Minister the Hon. Sam Condor will lead the Federal delegation to Tuesday’s Official Funeral at the St. Thomas’ Anglican Church, Lowlands in accordance with the wishes of Dr. Daniel.

    Other members of the Federal delegation are Attorney General and Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs, the Hon. Patrice Nisbett; Senior Minister  and Minister of Agriculture, International Trade, Industry and Commerce, Dr. the Hon. Timothy Harris; Minister of Health, Community and Social Development, the Hon. Marcella Liburd and Minister of Education and Information, Sen. the Hon. Nigel Carty.

    The Official Funeral Service will be presided by Canon Alston Percival, Rev. Ernest Fleming and Father Alric Francis.

    Family sources tell the Communications Unit in the Office of the Prime Minister (CUOPM), a solo by Dr. Raymond Rohan and tributes by Deputy Prime Minister Hon. Sam Condor; Premier of Nevis, Hon. Joseph Parry; grandson, Kajay Hodge; Law partner, Hon. Mark Brantley and grandson, Tyler Clarke will follow.

    The eulogy will be delivered by Mr. Victor Jay Martin and the Homily by Rev. Francis.

    The Official Funeral Service begins at 2 p.m. and burial will follow in the church yard.
