BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES in St. Kitts and Nevis today (June 8) have commenced a series of joint operations on the two islands that are scheduled to last for at least one week.

Police Press and Public Information Officer Sergeant Stephen Hector said that the duration might be extended should it be deemed necessary in the interest of the safety and security of the Federation.

He is also notifying the public that the law enforcement agencies zero tolerance initiative and drive towards all crimes and acts of violence in the Federation would be in effect.

“Though our initiatives may appear discomforting to many, the continued support of the general public is solicited as we continue to execute our strategic measures in the interest of the greater good of the Federation,” Hector added.

In recent months, members of the Delta Squad, Special Services Unit, Anti-Narcotics Units and officers from various Divisions of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force were engaged in similar exercises in an effort to take back the streets from criminal elements.
