BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, MARCH 8TH 2005 (CUOPM)
Contractors have until March 24 to submit bids to the Stanford Development Company in St. Kitts for the construction of the new Conaree Sports Field.
An advertisement appearing in the Stanford Company owned Antigua Sun and Sun St. Kitts and Nevis on Tuesday said that the works involved the construction of a basketball  court with night lighting, a netball court with  night lighting, a football field, a concession stand and washrooms, grassing and  landscaping.

The advertisement said plans and bid documents can be obtained from the Stanford Development Company Limited Office, Suite A9 in the Sands Complex, Basseterre, St. Kitts.

Contract documents will be available on Friday March 11, with a deposit of EC$300 which will be funded upon submission of  bona fide tender and the return of documents.

Stanford Development said inquiries should be directed to Mr. Lindberg Alvaringa of N. Brisbane & Associates.

It said the company reserves the right to reject any or all proposals or responses.

Stanford Development Company Limited agreed to the construction of the new sporting facilities after they purchased the land adjacent to the Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport for the construction of the Caribbean Star Headquarters.

The land was used by residents of Conaree for football and basketball activities and the Parliamentary Representative the Hon. Cedric Liburd had requested Mr. Allan Stanford to construct the new sporting facilities on the opposite of the building now under construction.

The cricket facility at Conaree is to be used for the Cricket World Cup 2007.
