BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - AFTER WITNESSING a thrilling SKNAAA National Invitational & Club Championships last Sunday 3rd June 2012, sport enthusiasts are anticipating an even more competitive meet today, Sunday 10th June when the 2nd Biennial OECS Invitational takes place.
Over 60 of the best athletes of the OECS region are expected to participate, some of whom have already qualified as world class athletes.
Some are already Olympic qualifiers and will be going all out to increase their season’s best and get closer to the much coveted London 2012 Olympic Gold.
On this pre-Fthers’ Day weekend, which has been filled with many key sporting activities, including local football play offs and NBA deciders, all roads will lead to the Silver Jubilee Stadium on Sunday when the meet will kick off at 3.p.m.

Meanwhile the Association of National Olympic Committees of the Organization of the Eastern Caribbean States (ANOCES) took the opportunity to meet in St. Kitts ahead of the OECS invitational Track and Field Meet which is supported by ANOCES.
The main objectives of the meeting were to formally discus and adopt the Constitution, and in addition, to strategically look at the formation of the OECS Olympic Sports Academy.
Members will be attending the Meet on Sunday and will have a chance to keenly observe what the region has to offer to the London 2012 Summer Olympics.
