Chinese national shot in restaurant robbery on Nevis

    CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – A daring robbery last night (June 10) on Nevis has left a Chinese national nursing a gunshot wound at the Alexandra Hospital.

     

    Information reaching this publication states that shortly after 10:00 p.m. a group of armed men had entered a Chinese restaurant named Tea House at West Square Street in Charlestown, Nevis and shot a male employee.

     

    According to Police Press and Public Information Officer Sergeant Stephen Hector, the assailants had entered the restaurant and demanded money from one of the employees who was at the time behind the counter.

     

    “While the demand for money was being made, another employee (Chinese) came from the kitchen area and was confronted by a gunman who shot him on one of his hands. He was taken to the Alexandra Hospital where he is being treated for his injury,” Hector said.

     

    At the time of posting this article, Sergeant Hector informed that investigations were being conducted and he could not have provided much information.

     

    He however promised that details of the incident would be provided soonest.
