BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – S. L. HORSFORD’S and Company Ltd. has rolled out yet another attractive incentive for its valued customers and potential customers to take advantage of.
Dubbed the “Horsford’s Furniture and Appliances Free Groceries”, and also known as “Cash Back”, the promotion is held each year during the months of June – December and the 2012 leg was launched on June 1.
SKNVibes understands that this is one of the company’s most-looked-forward-to promotions, having been instituted some 15 years ago.
In explaining how this particular incentive works, S. L. Horsford’s Marketing Executive Wallis Wilkin said every time a customer procures items from the company’s Furniture and Appliances Department via hire purchase, they would be given back a percentage of their purchase in coupons.
He said those coupons would be redeemable at S. L. Horsford’s Value Mart IGA.
Giving an example of how the promotion works, Wilkin explained that should a customer hire purchase a refrigerator and a stove to the tune of $6 000, that person would receive upwards of $300 in coupons.
Since the perennial promotion began more than a decade ago – Wilkin explained – “some EC$3M in groceries have been given to hire purchase customers…This particular promotion has been overwhelmingly successful and, as a result, Furniture and Appliances has committed to maintaining this annual promotion as long as our customers demand”.
He noted that in December 2011 alone, more than EC$240 000 was distributed to hire purchase customers because the amount of groceries that persons were entitled to was tripled.
Only time would tell if – come December 2012 – the groceries which customers would be entitled to are going to be tripled.
Wilkin promises however that “if there is an overwhelming demand from the customers, they would be tripled”.
