BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, MARCH 8, 2005 (CUOPM) A date has been set for the official opening of the Hospitality and Business Centre at the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College.
Principal Mrs. Hermia Morton-Anthony said the ceremony will take place at 5:00 P.M. on Thursday March 17.
She told the Communications Unit of the Office of the Prime Minister that the College currently offers two full-time Associate Degree programmes in Culinary Arts and Hospitality Studies.
The programmes were developed in collaboration with the Caribbean Tourism Organisation and the tertiary education institutions in the Caribbean under the umbrella of the Caribbean Tourism Learning Systems (CTLS). The programme development was facilitated by the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Education Reform Unit (OERU).
The Hospitality and Business Studies Unit was jointly funded by the European Union (EU) and the Federal Government of St. Kitts and Nevis.
The project included three main deliverables: the construction of the physical plant, equipping the facility and one training scholarship at the Masters or Bachelors degree level, said Mrs. Morton- Anthony.
She said that the building was completed for the start of the academic year in August 2004 and the first batch of Associate Degree students will graduates in November this year.
