95 Queen’s Jubilee Commemorative Medals Awarded

His Excellency the Governor Adrian Davis presents Constable Nathalia Durand with her Queen’s Jubilee Commemorative Medal on Thursday, June 7, at Government House.

    BRADES, Montserrat (June 11th, 2012) – Ninety-five officers from the Royal Montserrat Police Service, the Royal Montserrat Fire Service, Her Majesty’s Prison, and the Royal Montserrat Defence Force (RMD) received commemorative medals as part of the 60 anniversary celebrations for Queen Elizabeth II.

     

    On Thursday, June 7 the officers were presented with the medals at a reception at Government House by His Excellency the Governor Adrian Davis.
     
    Two officers from the RMDF also received their promotional bars from the governor. Officer Glenroy Foster was promoted to 2nd Lieutenant while Officer Colin Fergus was promoted to Lieutenant.
     
    To be eligible for the commemorative medals, an officer had to be in active service on February 6, 2012, with at least five years of service prior. February 6 was exactly 60 years to the day Queen Elizabeth II ascended to the throne.
