BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE Caribbean’s most creative attributes and talents in the visual and performing arts will come alive once again as the stage gets set to host the Miss Caribbean Culture Pageant on Nevis.
Already, Miss Anguilla, Miss Barbados and Miss Dominica Republic have been confirmed and this has been released to the general public via the Nevis Culturama Facebook Page.
According to organizers there will only be one show instead of two separate shows and it will be held on July 31 as part of the Culturama activities.
Contestants will compete in Swimwear, Cultural Wear, Performing Talent, Evening Wear and Interview.
The theme for this year is ‘Culturally yours’, and is used as a means of motivating each participating territory to present its country’s finest and most creative attributes and talents in the visual and performing arts.
In a previous press release, the pageant will serve as a platform where women of the region can exhibit strong characteristics to their regional counterparts and the world.
Pageant Director Randy Jeffers stated that this year's pageant will be a truly unforgettable event as it will also feature relevant entertainers bringing a cultural flair to the pageant He expressed his profound gratitude to all the benefactors of last year’s production.
The reigning Miss Caribbean Culture is Miss St. Lucia, Oneka Mckoy.
Miss Anguilla, Marejah Smith is said to be a multi-talented 23-year old who was born in St. Thomas, USVI to Anguillian parents, and grew up in Anguilla. She has high hopes of becoming an expert in International Law, a field which she sees as being vital to the future of these Caribbean small island states.
Miss Barbados, Jamilah Forde is said to be a warm, vivacious 21-year-old currently in her fifth and final year of pursuing her degree in Medicine and Surgery at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus.
