Former police constable on trial for endangering life

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - FORMER Police Constable Kern Cabey is currently on trial for one count of endangering life and another count of enabling other people to endanger life.

     

    The offences were committed on January 14, 2010 at the RLB International Airport Fire Hall.
     
    The case began (June 13) with Crown Counsel Rhonda Nisbett-Browne leading the prosecution team while Senior Counsels Henry Browne and Hesketh Benjamin are representing Cabey.
     
    Cabey is said to have entered the premises of RLB International Airport Fire Hall and fired two rounds of ammunition from a glock pistol with the intention of endangering life.
     
    Fifteen witnesses are scheduled to give evidence on behalf of the prosecution including Ballistic Expert Derrick Sanker. The majority have already testified.
     
    The case is expected to continue on Monday (Jun. 18).
