ROADTOWN Tortola BVI, June 17th, 2012  --  The BVIHS Class of 1992 is excited about celebrating their twentieth (20th) Anniversary this year and their goal is to make a considerable impact in the lives of the Elmore Stoutt High School Graduating Class of 2012.

As part of their 20th Anniversary Celebration they have as their highlight, a half day training session for the graduating class to be held on Monday June 18th, 2012.

Stacie Stoutt-James coordinator of the event shared, in a survey conducted of Elmore Stoutt High School students; “we found that many students had a misperception of the requirements for achieving success in the workplace and being prepared for the dynamics of college.

As such, we sort to create an initiative that is designed to positively prepare these young graduates to enter the job market or the college classroom with an initial level of skill and mentorship necessary to enable a magnitude of success.”

The focus topic of this Symposium to be held at 1:00 pm at the Multipurpose Sports Complex on June 18, 2012 is entitled “Adulthood 101:  Starting On Your Own.”

Stoutt furthered, “besides providing various prizes, awards (grants/scholarships) on graduation day we desire to offer learning opportunities that stimulate the minds of our graduating seniors.”

We, the Class of 1992 stand firmly on the shoulders of those before us and have now pledged as an Alma Mater to reach back and provide the same opportunities earlier afforded to us.

Mrs. Karia Christopher will be chairing the symposium, while eighteen persons from within our business and educational societies have been identified to facilitate sessions.

For more information about this event, persons may contact reunion president, Ms. Delia Jno Baptiste at telephone number 346-4149 or Vice President, Mrs. Stacie Stoutt-James at 541-7375.
