BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, June 19th, 2012 -- About a dozen Representatives ranked as the top sellers of Avon products in St. Kitts and Nevis were entertained on Saturday night at the Royal St. Kitts Marriott. The themed event called “You are the love of Avon” was the annual President’s recognition gala for 2011-2012.
“This is a highly anticipated annual event to which the representatives look with excitement as it seeks to reward the top performers over the last year. This is the event where winners walk away with gifts of unreleased items and trophies, and some graduate to the enviable category of higher sales commissions,” informed C&C Trading Ltd’s General Manager, Ann Saunders.
The three course dinner was interspersed with presentations of raffle giveaways as well as the announcement of the winners of the President’s Club and Honor Society.
Sharon Thomas, Chennelle Bart and Jacqueline Duncan copped the prizes for third, second and first place respectively in both the President’s Club and the Honor Society. Their excellent sales efforts were rewarded with trophies and gifts of jewelry and other high-end Avon gifts. As an Honor Society member they would also now be entitled to commission of up to 40 percent of their sales. To attain this designation, they would have sold goods up to the value of US$20,000 or more over the course of a year.
Also called to the podium for the Spirit of Avon Award was Kercha Hanley-Fahie whose personality and esprit de corps tipped the balance in her favour for this coveted plaque. The memory of last year’s winner of this prize was also honoured when the children of the late Stella Taylor were presented with a plaque from Avon inscribed with words of consolation on their loss. Lisha Stanley representing the local Avon Representative – C&C Trading Ltd, also presented a gift basket and a card to the three children of Mrs Taylor.
More awards were to be dished out in the category of Sales Increase Achievement. In this category, Mrs Jacqueline Duncan made her third appearance to the trophy dais for first place, and was followed by Simonetta Phillip and Marilyn Liburd in second and third place respectively.
Before the night was ended, Mrs Duncan, who by now had stolen the show, was back in the spotlight, winning the Sales Volume District Achievement Award. For her overall remarkable achievements, she was awarded a night’s stay for two at the St. Kitts Marriott which she shared with her husband Ken quite fittingly, as they were also celebrating their wedding anniversary.
“This has been a fantastic night of celebration,” commented Greta Dahl-Keith, Avon District Manager. “I am truly proud of the performance of our representatives on St. Kitts & Nevis for your selling prowess in this economically-challenging time,” she commended.
She also announced that 2011 was a particularly strong year for the island as C&C Trading Ltd received the Outstanding Performance Award for the entire District 1218, in the Caribbean Division of Avon’s business.
Citing figures of 88.8% sales increase and an increase of 48.9% of customers she said, “this performance demonstrates that this island has some fantastic representatives and Avon is proud of all of you.”
As a final opportunity for representatives at the President’s Club level, they were each given a raffle ticket to place their names for a chance to win a Kindle in a regional raffle. The raffle will be drawn in July.
Saturday night’s event was coordinated by C&C Trading Ltd - representatives for Avon on St. Kitts & Nevis, through Ann Saunders and Lisha Stanley.
