Water back to normal at JNF Hospital

BASSETERRE, St.  Kitts – THE water problem that surfaced at the Joseph N France General Hospital some two days ago was solved yesterday afternoon by the St. Kitts Water Services Department.

According to the Manager/Water Engineer of the St. Kitts Water Services Department, Cromwell Williams, engineers from his Department identified the problem and had it rectified yesterday at approximately 1300 hours.

Williams was however concerned with yesterday’s headline, which read “No running water at JNF Hospital”, and explained that only certain sections of the medical institution was out of running water.

He also noted that the problem arose sometime Wednesday night and, on being informed, employees of the Water Department immediately began the rectification process.

Yesterday, SKNVibes received information that the hospital was without water running through its taps.   ~~Adz:Right~~

Efforts were made to confirm the report and the Hospital’s Operations Manager was contacted, but she was not commissioned to speak to the media and referred SKNVibes to the Director who, up to press time, was not located.

However, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Elvis Newton, was contacted and he informed that he was aware of the problem. But contrary to what an employee of the Water Services Department said, Newton declared that the problem had “nothing to do with the hospital” and he had launched an investigation into the matter.
