KINGSTOWN St.Vincent, June 19th, 2012 -- The issue of financing the OECS Secretariat will receive some attention by Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves during his tenure as Chairman of the OECS Authority.
Dr. Gonsalves said this issue came up for much discussion at the recently held 55th Meeting of the OECS Authority here. He said it was agreed that a Committee will be established to review and report to the Authority on options to secure the sustainable financing of the OECS Secretariat.
The Meeting was convened at the Buccament Bay Resort from June 10th to 12th.
Dr. Gonsalves said the meeting was productive and resulted in decisions on issues that would advance the integration of OECS Member States.
The next OECS Assembly Meeting will be held in November this year.
