BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – POLICE have made breakthroughs in the investigations of the murder of Dale ‘Hot Boy’ Wattley and missing teen Jakeel Alford resulting in arrests on Tuesday, June 18.

According to Police Press and Public Information Officer, Sergeant Stephen Hector, Gavin Whyte, of Buckley’s Site, a young man said to be in his early 20’s was arrested today in connection with the murder of Dale ‘Hot Boy’ Wattley.

Wattley 32, was shot sometime after 9:00 p.m. on May 31, within proximity of his home, situated in an alley east of Upper Shaw Avenue in McKnight.

His murder was recorded as the eighth one in the Federation for this year (2012).

Sergeant Hector also confirmed that an arrest was made in the case involving the missing teenager, Jakeel Alford whose burnt remains were found in a 180-foot well in the White gate area in St. Pauls.

The late Verchild’s High School student had been missing since Thursday, June 7, 2012, and numerous search parties by family members were launched to find him but it was not until June 14th that his burnt remains were found.

The Police Information Officer (PIO) also stated that another arrest will be made in the next 24 hours for the ninth murder that occurred in Nevis.

That was the murder of Lloyd ‘Hallowpoint’ Lewis, a young man said to be in his mid-twenties, of Bath Village who was gunned down on June 13 in Cotton Ground by an unknown assailant.

Hector said that more information will soon be made available on the arrests as the police are determined and committed to taking back the streets from criminal elements.
