BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - THEY may not have won the St. Kitts-Nevis Football Association (SKNFA) Championship but they do have a trophy and a crown to boast about, as the RAMS Village Superstars' representative, Brittney Duggins, was this morning (June 23) announced as the first SKNFA Miss Sports Personality Queen.

Amassing a total of 822 points and snagging two of the four judged segments, the young beauty knocked out her four competitors; C.C.C Bath United - Tricilla Arthurton; S.L Horsfords St. Pauls - Kendresha Wattley; Delphic Newtown - Shiwani Gumbs; and LIME Conaree FC - Anthea Morris.

Duggins captured the creative wear segment where she sported a red and white one-strap knee length dress adorned from waist to knee with decorated strips of manila paper topped off with miniature footballs at the ends.

She completed her outfit with a trophy head piece and a paper crown portraying mini footballs and stars. A red football purse accessorised her hand.

The new queen also won best evening wear, wowing judges and audience alike in a strapless gown fittingly entitled "Pink Rose".

The evening dress hugged Duggins' body snugly from bust to hips and flowed from there stopping just above the ankles at the front and sweeping the floor in the back. Her entire outfit was adorned with silver rhinestones and silver jewelry complimented her attire.
Anthea Morris copped the first runner-up position with a total of 819.5 points.

She had the audience rolling with laughter when, in her talent appearance, she appeared onstage as a fortune teller who sought the guidance of her crystal ball to assist her in choosing the best football team for her grandson to join.

The crowd loved her catch phrase "crystal ball, crystal ball, who is the fairest team of them all?” The judges seemed to love it too as they awarded her best talent with 210.5 points.

Second runner-up went to Shiwani Gumbs who also won best performance speech despite a few hiccups during delivery.

Gumbs' talent performance was also one that stood out. She portrayed a football and did a dramatic skit about her team's struggle and ultimate victory.

Persons in the audience could be heard saying that her performance was "strange but meaningful".

Tricilla Arthurton won the title of Miss Amity. The Interview segment, due to unknown difficulties, was not judged. The ladies were, however, all equally given ten points.

A creative wear choice that shocked the crowd was that of Wattley when she emerged onstage sporting a red strapless dress titled "One Big Team" made entirely out of carpet material.

A line of flowers, also made of carpet, stretched from under her right bust across the stomach to the left, resting at her waist. Flowers also decorated the skirt of the dress.

The pageant, which was held at Carnival Village in Basseterre, in front of a relatively large crowd, got off to a fairly early start with the five beauties appearing onstage in their opening number, the Fanfare, when they performed their choreographed dance while donning female referee wear.

The host for the event was Judy 'Purple' Duponte with the assistance of former Miss National Carnival, Iantavian Queeley while Road March Champion, the Grand Masters Band, kept the crowd entertained during intermissions.
