Carambola Beach Club offers Music Festival Specials from Wednesday

By: Suelika N. Creque, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – CARAMBOLA BEACH CLUB, situated at South Friars, will give to its visitors an experience like no other whenever they dine at its luxurious hacienda-style restaurant or bathe in the turquoise beach.

As the island prepares to host one of the top festivals in the Caribbean, the St. Kitts Music Festival, Carambola is offering a Music Festival Special from June 27-30.

Speaking with one of the owners of the restaurant, Daislyn Sharpe, she told this publication that they anticipate many persons would be on island for the festival.

“We know that a lot of people may be coming to visit their relatives and friends in St. Kitts, and we want to offer a lunch buffet and specials that would especially appeal to them, along with our Sushi and an A La Carte menu,” she said.

From Wednesday to Saturday, persons can enjoy a four-course meal for only EC$99 and special happy hours from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with two for one cocktails and complimentary hors d’oeuvres.

There is also a shuttle service for persons who will be attending the festival, but they must at that time be either dining or having a drink at the restaurant. Transportation from the restaurant will be available at 8:00, 9:00 and 10:00 p.m. to the festival grounds.

The Carambola Beach Club has a hotel-like setting with a relaxing atmosphere and its name was derived from a fruit called Carambola, which is locally known as Star Apple.

“Carambola is a fruit with a beautiful colour and we thought it was the best representation of what we want people to feel when they heard the name,” Sharpe explained.

The restaurant opened its doors on December 1, 2011.

“Any visitor who comes to Carambola during the day can not only enjoy a lovely beach given to us by mother-nature and God, but they can also enjoy a delicious meal prepared by our Sushi chef or our kitchen staff,” Sharpe said.

She also said that the restaurant is owned by Kittitians and they wanted to add to the dining experience in St. Kitts.

“Carambola is an experience that we want to share with people. We are lucky because of our location we couldn’t have asked for a more lovely beach than what we have…guests are most impressed. They love the physical structure of the restaurant and we’d like to think that what we offer is an addition to the great things that can be offered in St. Kitts as a destination,” she said.

Apart from enjoying a delicious meal or having a drink, water sports are also available, including kayaking, while a massage therapist is also available at the beach.

“We don’t look at what we do as competing, but that we add value to St. Kitts as a destination which is very important to us. We want people to see what can be offered here,” Sharpe said.
