Basseterre, St. Kitts – June 25, 2012 (SCASPA): SCASPA will participate in the 15th Port Management Association of the Caribbean (P.M.A.C) Annual General Meeting in Barbados Port Incorporated during June 27 -29, 2012 at the Marriot Courtyard, Bridgetown, Barbados. Chief Executive Officer of SCASPA, Mr. Jonathan Bass and Mr. Kervin Freeman from Sea Port Operations, will be representing SCASPA.
The meeting will bring together regional Port Executives and industry officials to share experiences, information and ideas, training and development to effectively serve and function in the industry. Topics will include Concession Framework to Implement and Operate a Port Single Window, facilitated by Director of Corporate Development, SOGET and Chairman of the European Port Community Systems Associates (EPCSA), Mr. Pascal Ollivier; United Nations Resolution 1540 (2004), facilitated by Regional Implementation Coordinator, Mr. O’Neil D. Hamilton; Caribbean Port Security –The Way Forward, facilitated by Chairman of the Managing Committee of the Caribbean Shipping Association, Mr. Fernando Rivera; Securing Today’s Ports, facilitated by Mr. Jeff Brown of Transportation Security Associates; and Strategic Asset Management – Application in the Caribbean Port Context, facilitated by Mr. Erik Stromberg of Strongberg Associates.
Chief Executive Officer of SCASPA, Mr. Jonathan Bass expressed his excitement for participating in this year’s meeting for the first time.

There are some exciting topics that will be discussed at the meeting and I am going with an open mind to learn as much as I can and develop a good network to share ideas and thoughts. The major aim of P.M.A.C. is to improve the proficiency of member ports and the quality of services provided to industry stakeholders, via a singular focus on training designed to assist regional ports meet the ever increasing challenges of the global environment.
