BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE 2011 National Carnival Queen Pageant’s first runner-up Trevicia Adams will represent St. Kitts in this year’s Miss Caribbean Culture Pageant to be held on August 6 in Nevis.

According to chairperson and founder of the pageant, Randy Jeffers, Adams was selected by the National Carnival Committee to represent St. Kitts while the reigning Miss Culture, Santonnya Mills will represent Nevis.

Jeffers said eight other countries will be participating to make a total of ten countries which include two new countries, Dominican Republic and Curacao.

The other countries participating are USVI, Barbados, Trinidad &Tobago, Anguilla, St. Lucia and Montserrat and the contestants will all be competing in Swimsuit, Ambassadorial Wear, Talent, Evening Wear and Interview.

A number of pre-pageant activities are also planned for the contestants including a visit to the horse track, a Day at the Marriott Hotel, Welcome Reception and Premier’s Party and Church Service.

The house band for the pageant will be Green House Band while former first runner-up of a past Miss Caribbean Culture Pageant and host on Tempo, Jenesha John, will be the host for the evening.

Jeffers said that the show is in its seventh year and he has always had thoughts of taking a back seat in the pageant and just giving advice.

“Every year I say the same thing; it can be very hectic and stressful but each year when it comes around I get excited and start organizing it. The show has come a long way and I’m very proud of it. This year we have some very stunning ladies and I expect a great show.

“The show is going to be around for a very long time,” he said.
The theme for this year is ‘Culturally yours’, and is used as a means of motivating each participating territory to present its country’s finest and most creative attributes and talents in the visual and performing arts.

The reigning Miss Caribbean Culture is Miss St. Lucia, Oneka Mckoy.
