    Police/Court Round Up
    16 charged over past weekend

    ~~Adz:Left~~BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – SIXTEEN persons were arrested and charged for various offences over the past weekend and are expected to appear shortly before the Federation’s courts.

     

    Five of the 16 persons were charged with drug-related offences, four with wounding/battery-related offences, two with larceny-related offences, three with driving offences, one with a vagrancy offence and another charged with “unlawful carnal knowledge”.

     

    Old Road residents Darren Joseph and Dion Weekes were arrested and charged with a July 23, 2008 offence of “possession of cannabis”.

     

    Crab Hill, Sandy Point resident Edgar Pemberton was arrested and charged for “possession of cannabis” and “obstruction”, while two others from the same area, Chesley Dasent and Neil James, were arrested and charged for “possession of cannabis”. The two incidents are unrelated.

     

    Ketron Springette of Government Road, Nevis and Emar Martinez of Mango Terrace, Molineaux were arrested and charged with “wounding with intent” and “wounding” respectively.

     

    Buckley’s Estate resident Tandra Fyfield and Chavern Scott of Stapleton Village were arrested and charged with separate incidents of “battery”.

     

    Jason Williams of Upper Market Street and Shervin Williams of St. Pauls were both charged with the offence of “larceny”. According to Police, the offence for which Jason is charged took place on July 11, 2008 while Shervin allegedly committed the offence on July 25, 2008.

     

    Anthony Stapleton alias ‘Tony’ of Ponds Extension was on Sunday, July 27, 2008 arrested and charged with the offence of “unlawful carnal knowledge”; an offence he allegedly committed on June 24, 2008.

     

    Anthony Hendricks of Craddock Road, Nevis was arrested and charged after he was found within an enclosed premises.

     

    Alexander Mitrell of Durant Avenue was charged with “driving under the influence of alcohol”, while Elizabeth De Fraites of Prickley Pear Alley was arrested and charged for “driving without insurance”, “driving without a license” and “driving under the influence”.

     


    Komal Boyal, a resident of Bird Rock, was arrested and charged with the offences of “driving without insurance”, “driving without a valid or unexpired driver’s license”.
