BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE first ever Carambola White Sands Swimsuit Competition will be held at Carambola Beach Club on South Friars Beach, as part of the Music Festival Cool Down Event, this Sunday July 1 at 1:00 p.m.
A total of six contestants are competing and today we feature the second contestant, 18-year-old Larissa Gumbs of Flair Model Agency.
She resides at New Road Development and enjoys dancing as a hobby.
What motivated you to enter the competition?
My agent told me about it and I felt that I needed the exposure so I decided to do it.
Where do you see yourself in the next 10 years?
As a psychologist, I’m going off to study psychology but I would like to be modeling still.
Who do you admire and why?
My mother - She has always inspired me. She’s my biggest motivator, no matter what she is always behind me. If I’m wrong she’ll tell me and lead me the right way.
Which Music Festival artiste are you most looking forward to?
Toni Braxton- I love ‘love songs’.
Where is your favorite spot in St. Kitts?
I like King’s Palace, I just love Chinese Food.

Which issue affecting your country are you passionate about?
Domestic Violence-A lot of people are in relationships and they are abusing each other verbally or physically and they don’t realize. Even if it’s just talking it is still abuse.
