BASSETERRE, St. Kitts -THE first ever Carambola White Sands Swimsuit Competition will be held at Carambola Beach Club on South Friars Beach, as part of the Music Festival Cool Down Event, this Sunday July 1 at 1:00 p.m.
A total of six contestants are competing and today we feature the fourth contestant, 31-year-old Desiree Herbert of Movado Model Agency.
She resides at Taylors Village and enjoys being active and playing sports.
What motivated you to enter the competition?
My manager. I’m not into competition, but he told me he thinks it would be a good experience, so I decided to try it; it wouldn’t hurt.
Where do you see yourself in the next 10 years?
Probably out of St. Kitts somewhere on a secluded beach
Who do you admire and why?
There are a lot of people I admire but I would say I admire me most. I’m very confident, very determined to get what I want; I believe independence is important.
Which Music Festival artiste are you most looking forward to?
Jr. Gong. He’s a positive person. He just has mellow vibes.
Where is your favorite spot in St. Kitts?
My house, seeing that I’m not into insects and bugs, I like indoors.
What are you up to currently?
Right now it’s just work, work and more work and the agency.
Which issue affecting your country are you passionate about?
There are a lot of issues I would be upset about and there’s no change – nothing is being done about them. I would like to see stuff being done.
Tell us one thing about you people don’t know?
Most people don’t know I’m very shy, since I have a bubbly personality out there.
