BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - THE FINAL LEG of the Sweet 16 Music Festival has just ended and fans are already looking forward to the next one as they could not get enough of the artistes who performed at the three-night event.

Thousands of fans showed up last evening (June 30) to witness the grand performances of the Liamuiga Project,  Roberta Flack, Toni Braxton and Omarion who rocked the stage with every performance, helping to make the Festival the success that it was.

Be it staying onstage and teasing the crowd with body parts, or coming down on the ground and shaking hands with the fans, the artistes who took to the stage gave such a performance that they left the audience literally begging for more.

The show got off to a mellow start with the Liamuiga Project, who created the right musical atmosphere as the audience made their way onto the football field.

Led by Bruce Skerritt, the band grooved the crowd to tunes such as 'Molasses on the run' and 'Dougla'.

The highlight of their performance came at the end when Duvone Stewart, the man on the steel pan, took his instrument, turned it upside down and proceeded to play on it that way.

This gesture had the crowd in an uproar!

The second performance was that of Roberta Flack who warmed-up the crowd to the 'Lover's Night' of the Festival with songs such as 'Closer I Get To You', ‘Killing Me Softly', 'Play Misty For Me'

She also sang a tune, 'Forever Young', which may not have been her own but sounded great nonetheless.

This had the crowd delighted as they sang word for word along with the singer.

Next up was the crowd pleaser, Toni Braxton, who brought the pep; she and her back-up singers/dancers (who are also her sisters) skipped on stage and started off with an all time favourite, 'He Wasn't Man Enough For Me'.

In her black revealing ensemble Braxton sung her heart out while the crowd sang along word for word to songs such as 'I Love Me Some Him', 'Just Be A Man About It', and 'Breathe Again'.

During her song 'Another Sad Love Song', rain poured, but that did not stop the fans from enjoying themselves as they stood with waving hands, screaming out their lungs and wet bodies right up until the end.

Taking their minds off of the weather, Braxton distracted the audience with one of her hit songs - 'Yesterday'.

She continuously thanked the audience for not letting the rain put her performance on pause stating, "Thank you guys for staying in the rain for me. I love you!"

She wound down her performance with the slow rendition 'Unbreak My Heart' which everyone thought was the end of her performance until she reemerged onstage with 'I Heart You'.

The last but certainly not least performance was given by none other than Omarion, who hopped on stage belting out one of his hit tune - 'Touch'.

He quickly followed up with two from the former B2K boy-group 'Bomp, bomp, bomp' and 'Girlfriend'.

He sang a few more tunes from his fellow entertainers whose songs he featured in before pausing to invite 10 young ladies to join him on stage.

He asked the ladies to show him how they moved their waist as he played 'Bruk it Dung', a popular tune by Jamaican artiste Mr. Vegas.

The singer then invited a few men to the stage to 'grind' on the ladies. He then had the women rub him down as he belted out one of his songs.

Some of the fans were clearly dissatisfied with Omarion's performance as they were heard saying that it was "crappy", describing it as one that could have been given a lot more effort.

Others were however captivated by the celebrity's performance, requesting that he sang one of his hit songs 'Speedin', which he did.

To end his performance, the former B2k singer popped a bottle of champagne and sprayed the crowd as he electrifyingly brought 'the house down' on the Sweet 16 Music Festival.

Contrary to what normally happens at former Music Festivals and despite the 'wack' performance given by Omarion, the crowd did not rush for the gates after the singer left the stage, but stuck around begging for more.

The Sweet 16 Music Festival can truly be deemed a great success and fans wasted no time in letting it be known that they were so pleased that they are already looking forward to next year.
