SIDF Board appoints new Chairman

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, July 2nd 2012 (SIDF) - The Board of Councillors of the Sugar Industry Diversification Foundation (SIDF) has appointed Dr. Hermia Morton-Anthony as the new Chairman. Dr. Morton-Anthony succeeds Mr. Terrence Crossman who held the position from 2007.

     

    Dr. Hermia Morton-Anthony has served as a Councillor since the inception of the SIDF.  Presently, she is the President of the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College and former Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Housing, Agriculture, Fisheries & Cooperatives.  On behalf of the Board of Councillors, Dr. Hermia Morton-Anthony commended Crossman for the outstanding work that he had done as Chairman over the past five years.
     
    The Sugar Industry Diversification Foundation (SIDF) was established on September 16, 2006 under the Foundations Act 2003.  Its primary purpose is to provide support to Government in its efforts to diversify the national economy and maintain economic stability, and to support, finance or undertake the development of new and existing industries, projects or enterprises. The Foundation may also provide grants, loans, budget support, debt forgiveness or assistance of any kind to the Government or to persons or institutions that qualify for such assistance under its policies.
