BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – POLICE are investigating the shooting death of a male Stone Fort Heights resident who was gunned down last night (July 4) in Challengers Village.
Dead is 39-year-old Roy Nias, also known as ‘Chat Bout’, of Stone Fort Heights, Challengers Village.
He was reportedly shot multiple times to the body at about 11:40 last night in front of his home and was pronounced dead on the scene by District Medical Officer Dr. Vance Gilbert.
According to Police Press and Public Information Officer Inspector Lyndon David, the scene was processed by Crime Scene Technicians and items of evidential value were taken into police custody.
He noted that no suspect has been held in connection with the incident at this time but investigations are ongoing.
The police are urging anyone who might have any information that could lead to the solvability of this crime to "please call the Old Road Police Station at 465-6250 or the nearest police station".
Nias’ death has taken to 11 the number of murders committed in the twin-island Federation for the year; nine on St. Kitts and two on Nevis.
