PM Douglas says Park Hyatt St. Kitts will create opportunities

Press Release (CUOPM)

DUBAI, UAE, July 11th, 2012 (CUOPM) – St. Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister the Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas said Tuesday the construction and eventual opening of the Park Hyatt St. Kitts will create job opportunities for the advancement of the people of the twin-island Federation.

“We have determined that Range Developments and Kiawah partners and Christophe Harbour in St. Kitts have partnered with Park Hyatt St. Kitts. These are precisely the type of investors and investment that we want in this country. And so we look forward to collaborating to transform The Park Hyatt St. Kitts from a detailed, well thought-out plan to its eventual reality.

And I wish to make a point this afternoon of saying how very pleased we are for us to have Range Developments and Park Hyatt on board in this important project,” Prime Minister Douglas said a press conference at the Park Hyatt Dubai.

Range Developments and Kiawah Partners will develop the Park Hyatt St. Kitts at Banana Bay on the 2,500-acre Christophe Harbour community on St. Kitts’ South East Peninsula. The Park Hyatt will encompass 200 hotel rooms, 125 of which will be built in the first phase with all the amenities and support facilities.
    .
During the news conference Prime Minister Douglas pointed out that his government some 1 years ago embarked on a major programme of infrastructural expansion vis-à-vis air and sea ports, telecommunications, roads, airlift and so on, all with the specific goal of positioning the Federation to attract the type of investors, and the type of investments, that Government determined would best serve the interests of the country and the people.

“And we are here in Dubai today because we are very pleased to announce the creation of opportunities for the advancement of our people,” said Prime Minister Douglas.

Also at the Press Conference were Minister of Tourism and International Transport, Sen. the Hon. Ricky Skerritt, Range Developments Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Munaf Ali; Senior Vice President, Hyatt Hotels and Resorts, Mr. Patrick McCudden; and Executive Vice President, Kiawah Partners, Mr. Phil Keb.
