BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - THE SENTENCING session that was originally scheduled for July 12 at the Basseterre High Court before His Lordship Justice Errol Thomas has once again been postponed until sometime next week.

Seven individuals including the five men who pleaded guilty to robbing 17 tourists at Brimstone Hill on November 14, 2010 will have to wait a little longer to know their fate.

Elroy 'Stanny' Williams, Junior ‘Q’ Sobratie, Curtis Long, Delvin 'Stoby' Francis and George 'Naddy' Welsh were jointly facing a number of charges including assault with intent to rob and robbery to which they had originally pleaded not guilty.

The men, on the day their trial was scheduled to begin, changed their not guilty pleas to guilty and were sent back to Her Majesty's Prison to await sentencing following a Social Inquiry Report.

According to reports, 17 passengers, including an infant, were aboard a coaster tour bus when they were robbed of an undisclosed sum of money, jewellery, cellular phones and other personal items while on their way to visit the Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park.

Also scheduled for sentencing was Denrick Jeffers of Sandy Point who was found guilty of a sexual offence.

Jeffers was, earlier in the Assizes, convicted of raping a certain female in Basseterre on May 17, 2011.

He was originally scheduled for sentencing on July 5 but it was postponed.

Marlon Kelly was also scheduled to be sentenced. He too had originally pleaded not guilty to burglary allegedly committed at Boyds on 12 January, 2010.

He later changed his not guilty plea to guilty and will be sentenced as his Social Inquiry Report has been completed.

Meanwhile Kelroy Hazel and Jahari Bart are still on trial for the murder of Laustin Jamie 'Big Ship' Williams.
