Guns, ammo, ganja and crack cocaine found on Nevis

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THREE firearms, a large quantity of ammunition, magazines, a quantity of dime bags of cannabis sativa and crack cocaine were found it two different locations on Nevis.

     

    According to a police press release, the finds were made on Monday (July 9) during a joint operation conducted by members of the Criminal Investigation Department, Task Force and Crime Patrol Unit of the Nevis Division.

     

    The release stated that during the operation, the officers had executed a search warrant on the Low Street, Charlestown premises of Ibol Tyson which resulted in the find of a quantity of crack cocaine.

     

    Tyson and one Kinshenell Benjamin of St. Paul’s Village, St. Kitts were formally arrested and charged with possession of crack cocaine.

     

    It further stated that the officers made a search through some bushes (location unstated) within which they discovered three firearms, 222 assorted rounds of ammunition, two magazines and 104 dime bags of cannabis sativa.

     

    One individual was taken into custody to assist police with their investigation in relation to the find.

     

    Meanwhile, on St. Kitts, Jermaine Whyte of Fiennes Avenue, Basseterre was arrested and charged for receiving one BlackBerry cellular phone, the property of Delisle Walwyn.

     

    Whyte allegedly committed the offence on Friday, July 6, 2012.

     

    And Reginald Brown of Irish Town was arrested and charged for discharging a firearm in a public place.
