    (Basseterre; St. Kitts) RAMS Group of Companies has jumped aboard, for the third consecutive year, as the sponsor of the national primary school athletic championships.
     
    The handing over of the sponsorship cheque took place at RAMS Bird Rock Branch, on Monday 14th March, in a brief ceremony.
     
    Mrs. Diane Dunrod Francis, a former national 400m specialist and Olympian, accepted the cheque on behalf of the Championships organizing committee.
     
    Vernon Springer, sports official and chairman of the ceremony, said that RAMS has continually displayed tremendous interests in the development of the Federations young athletes.
     
    He added that the sponsorship creates the possibility of having young athletes showcasing their talents in hopes of becoming the next Kim Collins of the twin island state.
     
    Kiran Chandaramani, of RAMS Group of Companies, stated that her company was quite pleased to be involved in the promotion of the young athletes and providing an avenue for them to showcase their talents.
     
    The big RAMS Championship is scheduled for March 31st, at the Sandy Recreation Ground.
     
    Prior to the Championship, primary schools will compete in five different zones then the top athletes will be selected to represent their various zones in the Championship.
     
    The National Primary School Championship has produced such classy athletes Tiandra Ponteen and Kim Collins.
