BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - THE Culturama Committee under the guidance of the Nevis Cultural Development Foundation (NCDF) has announced that the King of the Jungle Band Clash that was scheduled to take place next Saturday (July 28) has been cancelled.
In its place, a 'Clash of the Bands Show' which is expected to feature two top bands from St. Kitts and two top bands from Nevis has been organised for the same date.
A Press Release issued by NCDF explained the reason for the cancellation and replacement.
"The Nevis Culturama Committee has had to take this course of action due to the unavailability of two of the established Nevisian bands for the competition.
All indications are that, should we proceed with the competition, it would not be of its usual high quality, and patrons would not get worth for money."
The committee said that it looks forward to the support of patrons at the Clash of the Bands Show that is scheduled to take place at the Cultural Village July 28, 2012 at 9:00 p.m.
"The Cultrama Committee will do all in its powers to ensure that 'The King of the Jungle Band Clash' competition returns to the Culturama calendar next year," the release said.
The 38th edition of Nevis’ Culturama Festival 2012 will run from Friday July 26 to Tuesday August 7.
