CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – SUPERINTENDENT Samuel Seabrookes and the 30-plus members of the Nevis Division of the Royal St. Kitts and Nevis Police Force under his command were on Thursday showered with praises by the Culturama Festival Secretariat and key officials for using strategic approaches that kept the festival free of serious violent incidents.

The officials applauded the Police at a press conference convened by the Culturama Festival Secretariat to review the festival and Superintendent Seabrookes, who was present, said he deployed the force amidst criticism that Culturama would be marred by crime.

He thanked the members of the public for complimenting efforts made by the Police. “Police officers will continue to offer quality services to ensure that Nevis remains peaceful,” he said.

Participants at the conference said the visibility of the Police assured members of the public that all was well.   ~~Adz:Right~~

There was also optimism at the press conference that with commitment and strategic approaches, crime could be adequately managed on the island.

Halstead ‘Sooty’ Byron told the press that the success of the security details followed a series of meeting between the Festival Secretariat and the Police authorities.  “We have developed a cordial relationship with the Police,” he said.
