CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – TWO male residents on Nevis were today (July 21) charged for robbing a couple at Hamilton Estate in Nevis on Tuesday, July 17, 2012.

The two men are Rohan ‘Lucky’ Hutton and Wilson ‘Hawk’ Jones who both reside in Stoney Grove.

A press release issued today by the Police Press and Public Relations Office only stated that Hutton and Jones “were formally charged for the offence of Armed Robbery which was committed on the 17/7/12”.

No additional information was provided; however, this media house learnt that the Hamilton Estate couple was “house-sitting” for a holidaying family and they have since returned to the USA.

An earlier release from the police had stated that officers from the Nevis Division had responded to two calls for assistance on Tuesday (July 17).

One of the calls, the release said, originated from the Hamilton Estate home of a couple, who told the police that two males had entered their home where they had an altercation and suffered injuries during the process.

“Medical treatment was administered to the residents, but they were not hospitalised,” the release added.

It also stated that the police had later that day arrested one male and were actively seeking the other man, who is known to them.

The other call, it noted, originated from Gingerland where it was reported that a male burglar had entered a home and injured the occupant.

Police informed that the injuries were non-life-threatening, but the resident was hospitalised for observation.

Again, SKNVibes had to seek additional information from resource persons about this particular incident and was told that the victim is also a US citizen, and that she is the former manager of Golden Rock Hotel in Gingerland.

To date, the names of the victims and confirmation of their nationality are yet to be released.
